ContentsGeneral PrinciplesArtistic Club is an online community of people dedicated to art. Its purpose is to give the authors the opportunity to publish their works and to make them available for reading/watching/listening to users all over the world. That applies to authors who would like to share that works for free and to art admirers who would like to enjoy others' artworks for free. Of course, all the rights remain to the authors. All types and genres of art that can be transmitted over Internet are subject of Artistic Club. There are four general art categories: texts, films, images and music. Each author needs comprehensive and objective feedback about his/her artworks and Artistic Club is the place where he/she can get it. Uploading artworks and enjoying them is free in this web service. No real money are involved. The only condition is that in order to show the world your artworks and to receive reviews about them, you have to contribute to the community by reviewing others' artwork for instance. Apart from uploading, reading/watching/listening artworks and reviewing them, Artistic Club offers another extended functionality. The users can create and execute projects related to art. They can create art contests and submit their works to other users' contests. Thus they can be compensated for their work on the tasks and receive awards upon winning a contest. Another feature is "events" that the users can announce. Those are festivals, exhibitions, auditions, seminars, even parties, related to art that happen some place at some time. Those complicated relations of supply, demand and exchange of efforts resemble an economical system. In order to regulate them, the System operates with virtual money called "Artes". In order to show the world your artwork and be able to get reviews, you have to pay a certain amount of Artes to the system. On the other side, you can receive Artes from the system by reviewing other users' artworks. When working with tasks or contests, the Artes involved are exchanged between users. Nobody is insured against malicious actions. Those could be uploading of insulting, rubbish or plagiarized materials; meaningless reviews, tasks or contests. The aim of Artistic Club is to restrain the System and the moderators at the lowest possible level of influence. Thats why a section called "Court" is created. Every suspicious item can be reported to the Court by any user. There the users can democratically vote PRO or CON the "accusation". If found "guilty", the item is banned. CopyrightOf course, you retain all ownership rights of your submissions. You just grant Artistic Club a license to use it according to its Terms and Conditions. You also grant the Artistic Club users to access your submissions through this website and to use them under the same Terms and Conditions. If you wish, you can apply a Creative Commons License to your artworks by selecting the desired license from the upload form. For more info, see #5 in Artistic Club's Terms and Conditions. RegistrationEach Internet user can read/watch/listen to the artworks presented on Artistic Club. Uploading, reviewing, participating in projects, contests and court are functions that require registering. Registration is free. You need to write your real name, to select a username, password and to supply a valid email. We recommend you edit and update your profile with as many optional fields as possible because this information shapes your profile and filters the projects, contests and artworks for reviewing that would be suitable for you. When a user registers, he or she receives a credit of certain amount of Artes in order to be encouraged to start participating in Artistic Club immediately. Only one user registration per person is allowed! Each user has rating which is determined by a complicated formula involving his/her turnover in Artes, number and rating of artworks uploaded, number of reviews written, number of projects completed. If you fail a project or report to Court an item that proves to be "not guilty", your rating will be lowered. If you happen to have an item banned, your rating will be lowered drastically. If your rating drops under a certain value, your user account will be banned! UploadIf you are the author or you have a significant part ot the authorship of an artwork, you can upload it. No else's artworks are allowed to be uploaded by you! If you want to upload, go through 'upload' menu and select the artwork (texts, films, images or music). You will see the cost in Artes for uploading that type of artwork. If you have enough Artes, you can go on. Enter all the required and as many optional fields as you like. If you upload a text, paste it into the text area. If it is an image, upload it from your computer. If it is a film, the situation is a bit different. Currently, Artistic Club doesn't supply video and audio hosting. And this is not its goal. Artistic Club is a web service for communications and activities related to artworks, not for physical hosting of those very artworks. You can use YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or other third party video hosting platform instead. Upload your film there, copy the link or embedding string they provide and just paste it in the Artistic Club upload form. Your film will be embedded and everyone will be able to watch it from Artistic Club no matter that it is not physically located there. The same applies to music. Use music hosting web services like Jamendo, themusichutch.com or other in order to upload your music piece. Note that you are not allowed to include video in the music section. If a video is found in an item in music section, it will be banned! All the artworks the Artistic Club users can upload must confine to the following rules:
Reading/watching/listening to artworksYou can read/watch/listen to the artworks presented on Artistic Club only for personal enjoyment. No commercial use of others' works is allowed without a consent of their author(s). You can search and browse the desired artwork by several criteria. The artworks that match the criteria are listed with their title and some information. When you click on the title, you can see the artwork itself. If you find the artwork in violation of Artistic Club rules, you can report it to the Court. You can also delete your own items, read the reviews and write your own review of other author's artwork. ReviewingA user can review a certain artwork only once. The artwork reviewed must be uploaded by someone else. If a user wants to earn some Artes from the System, he/she can request it from 'Reviews' menu. Then the System chooses an artwork from the type the user selects and assigns it to him/her. The user have to write a review successfully in order to receive the Artes. If you select an artwork and write a review without requesting it, it is considered a free will review and you do not receive any Artes. Nevertheless, we recommend you strongly to review as much as possible because that's what author really need. Moreover, each review you write rises your rating. When you review an artwork, you have to rate it from 1 to 10. This is how the artwork's rating is calculated. Every vote is weighted by the user's rating. That means that users with higher ratings will have more influence than users with lower ratings. All the reviews must confine to the following rules:
ContestsThe Artistic Club contests are created by the System or users with positive rating. Each of them is related to one of the art categories: texts, films, images or music. Like any "real world" contest or festival, they request artworks of specific genres, they provide conditions, deadline for submissions, end of contest. Of course, there should be prizes for winners (in Artes) but on the other hand, you have to pay submission fee (again in Artes) in order to submit your work. While the users who submit to a contest pay the submissions fee, the contest creator gets their Artes. But the creator is then obliged to pay the winners the announced prizes. The winners are determined by a democratic voting which every user can make. It is counted in relation to the specific contest and is different from the general rating for a reviewed artwork. Every vote is weighted by the user's rating. At the end date of the contest, the voting stops, the winners are selected and they receive the prizes. All the Artistic Club contests must confine to the following rules:
ProjectsEvery user with positive rating can create a project. A project can be offered or demanded. 'Offered' means that you are searching for a specific job as an "employee" and you wish to be payed the amount of Artes you specify. 'Demanded' means that you as an "employer" provide a job which you want to be done and you pay the 'employee' the amount you specify. You enter all the information, value in Artes and deadline of the project and then wait for someone to accept it. Every Artistic Club user who feels capable of doing it, can accept the project and start working on it if "employee" or assign it if "employer". When the "employee" considers that the project is completed, he/she claims it to be done and waits for the "employer" to confirm. When the completion of the project is confirmed, the value in Artes is transfered to the "employee". If there are disagreements between the "employer" and the "employee", each of them can report the project to the Court where it will be judged by the Artistic Club community. If an accepted project is not completed before the deadline, it is considered 'failed' and the Artes are given back to the "employer". If the "employer" doesn't confirm that a task is done or doesn't report it to the Court for a certain period, the task is considered 'done' and the "employee" receives the value. All the Artistic Club projects must confine to the following rules:
EventsThe users can announce events in the field of art. That could be concerts, exhibisions, festivals, workshops, even parties. They provide the time and place of the event and a short description of it. All the events in Artistic Club must confine to the following rules:
CourtThe Artistic Club Court is the place where all the contradictory items go. Every artwork, review, project or contest can be reported to the Court by any user who considers them in violation of the rules. The users can see the items in the Court, get familiar with them and vote 'Guilty' or 'Not Guilty'. After a certain period, If the majority votes 'Guilty', the item is banned and no longer available. If the majority votes 'Not Guilty', the item is removed from the Court. Every vote is weighted by the user's rating. Note that if you report an item to the Court and it turns out to be 'Not Guilty', your rating is lowered. On the contrary, if it proves to be 'Guilty', your rating is increased. Respect the rules, participate and contribute to the artistic community and have a pleasant and useful stay at Artistic Club! |
