The number 272457835645356604 entered a difficult stage of his life. Suddenly he was dawned on the idea of his insignificance which hit his head like a hammer. Wound into a ball, it suffered melancholically and bemoaned his senseless life:
“Poor me! So unneeded, useless, doomed to solitude and indifference! How is possible that nobody’s ever thought of any use of my number? At the same time there are a lot of stupid and trivial ones that have been acknowledged. They even have names – Avogadro’s number, Riedberg’s constant, Planck’s constant, not to mention Pi and e. All of them until recently were numbers as ordinary as me.”

Agent Drake set his foot on the last step of the ship's bridge and nodded as a goodbye and thanks to the stewardess, who merrily, even with a certain dose of familiarity, was waving at him with two of her tentacles...

A young, not very well educated but clever assassin is searching for the Truth. He’s interested about the border between life and death, between this and the other world, between reality and dreams. All his life he walks on this border but he doesn’t dare to cross it because he knows that the ticket is one-way. When eventually he accepts life, it turns out that the border is linked to his fate and he is unable to get off it.

This script was written especially for the 2003 Nisimasa scriptwriting contest. Happily, it won first place at the national phase for Bulgaria.
